UL-142 tanks are steel atmospheric tanks designed for the aboveground storage of non-corrosive, stable, flammable, and combustible liquids. These tanks have a maximum allowable working pressure of 0.5 psig, measured from the top of the tank. They are commonly used for various applications where safe storage of liquids is required, such as in industrial facilities, refineries, and commercial properties.
- Tanks can be equipped with stationary support saddles, anti-roll supports, or structural skids for stability. Only new steel materials are utilized in tank construction to ensure durability and reliability.
- Each tank is sized with the appropriate normal and emergency vent openings as outlined in the tank’s standard of construction. Horizontal or rectangular tanks may be constructed as single or double wall configurations. In the case of a double wall design, the tank includes interstitial monitoring capabilities to detect any leaks or breaches in the inner wall.
- Tanks may also be constructed with or without multiple compartments to facilitate storage of multiple types of fuel. All tanks are manufactured in accordance with the Underwriters Laboratories specification standard UL-142, ensuring compliance with industry standards for safety and quality.
