FIREGUARD ® double-wall fire-protected aboveground storage tank features an inner and outer steel tank with a unique lightweight thermal insulation material that can meet a 4-hour fire test.

Fuel & Energy’s STI Fireguard® Tank is at the forefront of fire-protected liquid storage technology. This tank holds UL 2085 Labeling as a “fire-protected” and “fire-resistant” aboveground tank with a 2-hour fire-rating. The innovative design features lightweight thermal insulation enclosed between two steel walls, providing UL-listed secondary containment. The interstitial insulation material is 75% lighter than concrete, significantly reducing the overall tank weight compared to competing concrete-encased products.
The Fireguard® Tank adheres to various codes and standards, including:
- UL 142 for primary and secondary tanks
- UL 2085 Listed “Protected” tank
- Ballistics and impact protection per UL 2085
- Both the inner and outer steel tanks are built to UL standards

FIREGUARD® TANK FEATURES
The Fireguard® tank’s steel outer wall ensures cost-effective maintenance and protection against severe weathering.
Unlike concrete, issues like spalling and cracking are non-existent.
The interstitial porous insulation material shields the product from both ambient and extreme temperatures, allowing any leaks to migrate to a monitoring point for easy detection.
Fuel & Energy’s Fireguard® Tank is versatile, available in cylindrical or rectangular shapes, and comes in sizes ranging from from FG 1-265 gallons to FG 50-13200 gallons
Customizations, including openings, manways, exterior coatings, interior linings, and compartmentalization, can be tailored to meet specific requirements.
